The IFS Mentoring Program acts as a community partner compelled to assist the youth in our community in developing positive characteristics and skill sets that will be crucial in their development as productive members of society while encouraging their awareness, and that despite their life situation, there are people in their community that care and want them to achieve their full potential.
IFS MENTOR PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
The target population consists of children and adolescents, male or female, between the ages of 8 and 18 with family involvement with Bedford County Children and Youth Services that are experiencing one or more of the following challenges:
Relationship Difficulties at Home
Past or Current History of Involvement with Bedford County Mental Health or Juvenile Probation
Issues of Truancy
Behavioral Issues at Home, School, or in the Community
Experimentation or Abuse of Illicit Drugs and/or Alcohol Use
At Least One Adult Member of the Household Must Agree to Participate in the Service

Keep Youth Arrest-Free
Keep Youth Drug & Alcohol-Free
Help Children & Adolescents to Build Values & Morals for the Betterment of Themselves, Their Families &the Communities that They Will Live & Work In
